- Natural Nutrition: Artemia is a natural and essential source of nutrients for your fish.
- Ideal for Young Fish: The small nauplii are the perfect first food for newly hatched fish.
- Color Enhancing: Artemia is rich in carotenoids, which contribute to the intensity of your fish's colors.
- Easy to Cultivate: With the right tools and instructions, cultivating artemia is simple and quick.
How to Use Hobby Artemia Eggs
The Hobby Artemia Eggs are easy to use. Here is a simple step-by-step guide:
- Preparation: Use an artemia hatchery such as the Hobby Artemia Easy Breeder or a similar system.
- Salt Solution: Prepare a salt solution with suitable salt, for example, Hobby Artemia salt. A good ratio is about 9.6 g of salt per 300 ml of water.
- Add Eggs: Add the Hobby Artemia eggs to the salt solution. A quantity of 20 ml of eggs (10 grams) is suitable for a large batch.
- Aeration: Ensure good aeration with an air pump (not included) and an air hose.
- Temperature: Maintain a water temperature of approximately 20-25°C for optimal hatching rates.
- Waiting: The nauplii usually hatch after 24-36 hours at 24°C and 30-40 hours at 20°C.
- Harvesting: Once the nauplii have hatched, they can be harvested and fed to your fish. The nauplii are attracted to light and can be siphoned off from the bottom of the hatchery.
- Rinsing: Rinse the artemia nauplii well with clean water before feeding to remove any salt residue.
Tips for Successful Artemia Cultivation
- Use Fresh Water: Preferably use osmosis water or tap water treated with a water conditioner.
- Correct Salt Concentration: Ensure a salt concentration of 30 to 35 grams of salt per liter of water (approximately 9.6 grams per 300 ml).
- Light: Illuminate the hatchery with a lamp to attract the artemia nauplii to the light.
